Toyota 4Runner Interior
The interior of the 2025 Toyota 4Runner isn’t exactly cutting-edge, with switchgear that looks like it came from the last millennium. Engine Power & Performance
Every 4Runner is powered by a 4.0-liter V-6 engine with 270 hp and a five-speed engine and transmission. The outdated engine provides disappointing efficiency, with the most recent model. We checked taking 7.7 seconds to speed up from 0 to 60 mph. It is available with either rear-wheel drive or full four-wheel-drive systems.
The automatic transmission’s sluggish reflexes undoubtedly do not maximize the engine’s erratic performance, and downshifting frequently causes powerful right-foot inputs to push the 4Runner forward. When compared to the larger Wrangler, the Toyota felt more composed on the road.

The tough 4Runner is a two-row, midsize SUV that seats up to five people. A third row that increases seating capacity to seven is available for $1,085 on the SR5, SR5 Premium, and Limited.
